Your first visit to our office will be for the purpose of a thorough oral
examination and initial assessment by Dr. Prakash as to whether orthodontic
treatment is indicated .Since you will be receiving an opinion, rather than a
full diagnosis on this first visit, if convenient, only one parent may accompany
the child.
After the initial consultation, if immediate treatment is
indicated, you will be advised diagnostic x-rays and photographs. The patient
will now be called with these records for an impression (measurement of teeth).
Then, Dr. Prakash and his Associates formulate a treatment plan, examining the
patient with suitable inputs from patient’s records. During the third
appointment, both parents are requested to accompany the patient and participate
in the Treatment Conference and have all their queries clarified.
We urge
both parents to be present, to make it easy for you understand the treatment
requirements and be an important part of treatment objectives. During the
conference an estimated length of time for the treatment as well as frequency of
visits will be given. Based on our experience, this is usually reasonably
accurate, depending on the cooperation received from the patient. We want you to
completely understand what will be provided by this financial investment in the
patient's future dental health.
We reserve a time for this case conference - diagnosis that is as convenient as
possible for all concerned.
We will endeavor to answer all your questions. If there are individual problems
of some other nature that might influence the acceptance of treatment this is
the opportune time for discussing them.
