Excellence defines Dr. Mani K. Prakash’s  scholastic and professional career.

                 After graduating as a Master of Dentistry in Orthodontics  from Govt. Dental College,   Bombay University in  1968, Dr. Prakash entered the world of academia and taught Orthodontics to students –both Under- and Post Graduates for over 2 decades in different colleges like Govt. Dental, Bombay, Nair Dental and D.Y. Patil Dental College, New Bombay in professorial positions. He is the recipient of numerous citations and awards for clinical excellence like the ‘Best Clinical Paper’ presented at the annual sessions of Indian Orthodontic Conferences(6 times) and ‘Best Paper’ presented in the Journal of Indian Orthodontic Society (Twice).

                 He is currently a Honorary Consultant Orthodontist,  Bombay Hospital (Medical Research Centre), Marine Lines, Mumbai, one of the leading and prestigious medical institution of Bombay. He has the honor of holding this position from 1981 to date. Dr. Prakash had long been respected for his native talent, clinical proficiency, and exceptional work ethic. He is in exclusive practice of Orthodontics for the past twenty-nine years.

                 Dr. Prakash, one of the well known figures in Indian Orthodontics, is an excellent clinician, outstanding teacher and renowned  for his writing abilities. He has held different positions in Indian Orthodontic Society. He was the Editor of Journal of Indian Orthodontic Society from 1991 to 1996. During his time the journal has made great strides towards excellence. He was conferred with the ‘Honoris Causa' by the Indian Board of Orthodontics, Oct 1999 for his contribution to the cause of Indian Orthodontics by being the ‘Editor’.

                 In  the year 2000, Dr. Prakash joined a select group of very few esteemed clinicians by becoming a ‘Director & Diplomate’, of the Indian Board of Orthodontics, an honor conferred only to those who pass a rigorous series of examinations. As of 2005 he has been elected as a "Director" of the Indian Board of Orthodontics for the a term of 5 years.

                 Committed to sharing his knowledge with students and colleagues alike, Dr. Prakash lectures constantly not only around the country ( Key note speaker in National meetings several times) but also in different parts  the world. His innovative work in the field of Early Treatment, Pre adjusted Appliance Therapy; Surgical Managements are recognized around the world. He has lectured & presented courses on these topics in countries like U.S.A., U.K., Japan, Philippines, Kenya, Indonesia, and Singapore. In all his preoccupancy he  never neglects his zeal to enhance his own skills by routinely attending as many  continuing education courses as possible around the world. This enables him stay in tune with latest procedural techniques and technological innovations. He has published widely in both national and international literature.

                 Dr. Prakash lives in Bandra - mid way between both of his offices - with his wife Shyama, who is a Microbiologist-Teacher by profession. They have a19 year old son Siddhant, who is in college graduating for a business degree. Dr. Prakash is an outdoor man with a keen interest in cricket and makes a must  of the weekly game of badminton. You ask him about cars he will talk, talk, talk . . . . and go on talking !!!

                 Dr. Anil Kumar Varshney got his  Masters in orthodontics from K.G Medical College, Lucknow in 1990  and has been with us at the Dental Specialty Clinic in Bombay Hospital from 1992. Currently, he holds the post of Honorary Assistant Orthodontist at the Dental Specialty Clinic. With his mild demeanor, he is a popular member of our team doing a yeoman task of dealing with all kinds of patients. If you ever need any help here is a man who never says no.

                 Dr. Punit Thawani the most recent addition to our staff, Dr. Punit completed his BDS and MDS in orthodontics from the SDM College of Dental Science, Dharwad. He has also attained the MOrth RCS Ed from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, U.K. A pleasant young man, he enjoys his work, and is dedicated to the profession. An avid musician, he has been playing the drums for the last 10 years.

                 Dr. Jomon Samuel He has been associated with our practice since 2007. He has completed his Masters in Orthodontics from D.Y.Patil Dental college and Hospital., Navi Mumbai. He is pursuing his academic interest as a Senior Lecturer with M.G.M college and Hospital., Kamothe., Navi Mumbai. He is very hardworking , sincere and dedicated to his job. He spends his leisure time in Cricket, basketball and badminton.
